Evergreen en Noir

when i found out a friend of mine was closely connected to evergreen raceway in Drums, pennsylvania and how i had not frequented this short track since I was a kid in the 90's, I just knew i had to get permission to go back again. but this time would be a little different- instead of watching in the grandstands, I'd be watching behind a lens.

so with my affinity for black and white, i couldn't resist taking inspiration from the most monochromatic time of day- night.

There's just something hypnotic about tracking these speed demons dance under the stadium lights, wrapped in a canopy of velvet darkness that simply does not exist during the day.

whether you've ever been to short track racing at night or not, i hope this mini series conveys the unfiltered, gritty, suspensful, intoxicating energy that eminates from the magic that only happens at the speedway after dark.
