Christine is a self taught, internationally recognized, award winning fine art photographer specializing in rich, emotive monochromatic imagery. Using her maiden name in her photography is a way of paying homage to her father for sparking her love of photography back when she was still a child. Having four young children of her own, she finds her soft spot in artistic lifestyle portraiture, but also enjoys delving into architecture, nature and the abstract.
Although she currently resides in Northeast Pennsylvania, Christine began seriously pursuing and fine tuning her passion during the several years she, her husband and their family lived in sunny Southern California.
Christine enjoys turning the mundane into magic by elaborating on a moment with the lights and shadows that are already there. Her beliefs that photography has the potential to display the same artistic expression as any other fine art by not only appealing to the senses, but also tugging at the very soul resonates throughout her work. She loves the phenomenal way imagery can be used to express oneself while depicting a moment in a way that can strike a chord, tell a story, take the viewer back in time or bring a plethora of forgotten memories back to the viewer. She feels that if she can make the viewer look at one of her pieces in a way they never had before and it invokes feelings that they otherwise may have never encountered, then she has accomplished her purpose.
Christine's imagery has been recognized both in and out of the photography industry since the start. Her heartfelt series about a childhood without technology has been published in media outlets worldwide. Her works have been showcased in exhibitions in London, Thessaloniki, Berlin, Madrid, Milan, Edinburgh, and here in the US in Texas, New York City and her home state of Pennsylvania. Her online presence has awarded her titles in competitions on Viewbug, Gurushots and Shoot & Share. Along with being a finalist in both the 2017 and 2015 Clickin Mom's VOICE Collection, Christine was also shortlisted in the Open competition of the 2015 Sony World Photography awards by placing ahead of over 78,000 images. Her monochromatic work has garnered attention from both digital and print magazines and has also been awarded various placements in Child Photo Competition's International Black and White contest in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Christine has shot with Sony since she began to seriously pursue photography 4 years ago. She pairs her A900 with vintage Minolta glass, reminiscent of the days she started out on film with her father's Minolta X-700, which she hangs onto to this day. Because she's always wanting to help others learn and grow in their pursuit of photography, Christine also offers both short and long term mentoring for the growing artist.
